Benefits

Hello Members,

April 1st you received the new benefit rates in the mail and have the new rates come off your first cheque in April.  The Trustees are sending out a follow up explanation as to why the Health rate have been increased so significantly. Bill 13 ‘Drug Cost Assistance Act’ has negatively impacted our Benefits plan which comes as no surprise. Since 2012 we have been providing the members with decreases. We could provide this decrease from the surplus. The surplus has been depleted.

  • Health: Health rate will have a 44% increase. This will take us back to a little less than what our Health rates were in April 2012.
